Redding's labor market is in equilibrium. Employment grew just 0.14% over the past year — a pace that barely registers as growth — and momentum is holding steady with no meaningful acceleration in either direction. The market is neither adding jobs at a clip that signals expansion nor shedding them in a way that raises alarm.
Unemployment, at roughly 2.0%, remains low by any historical standard and has changed little year over year. That combination — near-flat employment growth alongside a tight unemployment rate — suggests Redding's labor pool is largely spoken for, but employers aren't aggressively competing to expand headcount either.
